Consent education

based in creativity and connection

Hi, I’m Mia.

I’m an author, philosopher, consent educator, multi-media artist, and an Intimacy Coordinator for TV, Film, and Theater. I’m invested in helping others find their voice. After spending ten years in New York working in theater and visual art, I returned to my hometown of Los Angeles in 2018. My BA in Philosophy, and my academic background in gender studies, ethics, and neuroscience informs my work.

I found consent through Intimacy Coordination and fell in love with it so much that I decided to dedicate my life to making it as widely available as possible. You can see the community that has sprung from this intention on Instagram.

I have spoken at Planned Parenthood’s conference for Sex Educators, served as Tinder’s Resident Consent Educator, and been interviewed on Good Morning Australia, CBS Inside Edition, and more.

I founded the Consent Wizardry school at the beginning of the pandemic. When TV sets shut down, I decided to offer a consent class on Zoom from my childhood bedroom. It took off from there and became the school you see today.

MY APPROACH IS INTEGRATIVE, SOMATIC, BEYOND YES AND NO, TRAUMA-INFORMED, ANTI-CARCERAL, AND ANTI-CANCELLATION.

Consent is much more than permission, or yes and no. Consent a path of discovery based in self-expression; a way of getting to know yourself, finding your deepest needs and desires, asking for them, recognizing your capacity and limitations, and sharing all that with others.

I hope to see you in class :)

Strong boundaries allow us to take down the walls we’ve built to protect ourselves.

My approach is to zoom in, so we can slow down and begin to make the unconscious conscious.

Whether you personally want support in your business or creative life, private consent training, or your business could benefit from the mitigation of power dynamics and enhanced communication to foster creative flow, I can craft a program that fits your needs. My work focuses on both the micro and macro, ranging from interpersonal dynamics to the systemic forms of oppression that insidiously take hold of our minds and hearts.

If you’d like to work together in a consulting or teaching capacity, book a call here.

I believe that confidence is an ethical imperative. When I'm insecure, I leave the moment, stop listening, and become judgmental, jealous, and defensive. When I'm able to access confidence, I can be the person I want to be in the world: a person who listens, empathizes, reacts honestly, and stays present.

My Story

I’ve struggled with autoimmune and gut issues over the course of my childhood and still do as an adult. As I finally began to understand the scope of what I was dealing with, the start of my healing journey (a journey I’m still on) paralleled my training to be an intimacy coordinator, and the two endeavors merged. I explored my boundaries and got deeply in touch with my intuition and what my body needs, and I plan to continue this work for the rest of my life.

I’m confident that my journey can help make finding and expressing what you need intuitive, self-guided, and easy to integrate into your current life. I firmly believe that authenticity is spiritual and physical medicine. As a facilitator of a dialogue between you and your body, I can help you can get in touch with your physical and emotional needs, desires, and instincts. We need to feel safe in order to access play, creativity, and imagination. Together we will cultivate that sense of safety internally and begin to apply it outward.

Boundaries are the distance at which I can love you and me simultaneously.
