Co-dream. Community. Connection.

Co-dream. Community. Connection.

Who is this for?

This 2-day retreat is intended for those who are looking to strengthen their boundaries, to get into their body, find, feel, and express their desires, re/connect with their creativity, and those looking for practice and community. It’s a good fit for those who are or want to be self-employed, are healers, coaches, artists, freelancers, practitioners, mental health professionals, those who are looking for more creativity and sustainability in their life.

This is a trauma-informed, neuro-diversity-aware approach to consent that takes the gut-brain axis into account. Consent is more than “no means no” or getting permission. Consent is a language and an embodied practice.

This is an all-levels course, so whether you’ve taken a class before or this is your first toe-dipping into this kind of content, this retreat will be a good fit. Consider this permission to enter wherever you’re at in your boundaries and consent education!

Listen to our podcast episode about it!

Invest in yourself. Co-dream a better world.

Mia’s Classes

Practice Saying No

online consent classes boundaries los angeles mia schachter

If you’ve felt limited by the ‘no means no’ and ‘anything other than an enthusiastic yes is a no’ rhetoric of consent, this class will give you a much deeper and more nuanced way to talk about consent and boundaries.

2 hours.

Nonverbals

We'll go over seven different indicators of our own emotional state and someone else's that we can look for when gauging consent on an ongoing basis. We'll use exercises to practice and bring it into the body.

Kuan’s Classes

The Art of Noticing

Noticing is a foundational practice to embodiment, since you can’t embody something that you haven’t noticed. Through practices that invite both movement and stillness, you’ll get more in touch with what’s already present in your body and grow your trust in what you notice. From there, a sense of ease and confidence in communicating your noticings naturally flows.

60-90 mins

Relating to the More-Than-Human World

Your body is a vessel of wisdom, and so are the bodies of trees, flowers, animals and insects around you. Through embodied inquiry and listening, you’ll attune to the yes-to-no of the more-than-human world, experience the gifts of reciprocity, and deepen your kinship with all those around you. There will be poems, invitations for individual practice, and optional group sharing.

Rebekah’s Classes

Mellow Yoga: Healing starts with the body.

Mellow yoga is designed to give you the opportunity to get out of your head and into your body in a way that feels safe, and authentic to who you are and what you need. Situated within a practice of consent, yoga is the process of building a connection between your mind and your body and learning to recognize the language your body speaks (sensation). This class is a trauma-informed approach to yoga and is for all levels of experience. You can expect to move slowly and get your heart rate up enough to feel the aliveness of your body before moving into gentle guided stillness. All poses and movements are considered optional and are sequenced celebrating the fact that we all have different bodies and different needs.

~60 minutes, no experience required.

Recommended props: blankets (1-2), pillows (1-2), yoga blocks (1-2 if available at home)

Embodied Expression: Self-consent and Art

This experiential art workshop is meant to be an antithesis to academic art, rather than focus on creating a product the emphasis is placed on noticing the somatic experience of creating art. This means noticing the moments of pleasure and satisfaction you might feel from using different types of materials/approaches right alongside the feelings of judgment and insecurity that are likely to arise. The question we will be exploring is: how does your body communicate “yes” and “no”during the process of creating art? You will have the opportunity to explore and experiment different materials with support and guidance when needed. Materials will include: watercolor, pen, marker, pastel, and paper.

90 mins-2 hours.
